It was Brett that actually sealed the deal for me.
As you know, he's been using the Reload with the SV20 and SC20 for a couple of months now. Just for his regular demos e.g. for demoing a pedal or whatever; but I noticed he was using it in a supporting role and it sounded great. This was all I needed to hear.

Are you running it into studio monitors or using the baked SS power amps to drive a cabinet or...? Timely thread. I'm not selling my FAS anything but I've been trying the Marks through the III for FX (which are superb) and using my stale ass Boss IR I can't get away from. It's a familiar sound but talk about homogenizing the living FUCK out of something.Still loving my Reload II + 1987X.
It's pretty much all I've used since I got it.
Sold my Axe-Fx III.

Not driving a cabinet yet. Just through Neumann studio monitors at this time.
I'd like to drive something greenback-ish some day.

It depends upon how I feel; I will indeed use pedals in the Reload loop; but I'll also just use plugins in MainStage e.g. Valhalla Delay. I prefer Valhalla Delay to most pedal delays*
* For example, the Valhalla Delay digital model with modulation is better than the Strymon DiG!

After trying the Fryette PS-2A, I’ve repurchased the Reload 2.
The PS-2A was waaaaay too noisy as a load box for trying to capture amps. Loads of high pitched squealing at high master volumes in the amps - whereas the Reload 2 is dead silent.
The PS2A was great as an attenuator, but nothing more impressive than the Reload 2.
Plus, the PS2A arrived with a faulty valve. Not impressed with the QA there.

@Ross Davies quick question; when using this as a load box for proxy captures of amps, will it use the built in reactive load profile if I have a speaker connected…?
Question has come about as I’m hearing that load boxes only use their built in reactive load profile if a speaker is not connected during a capture process.

Great question. Reload II will always use the internal load as the device uses re-amping to achieve its attenuation - as such the speaker level signal from your amp always hits the internal load of Reload II. Let me know if this helps!

Me either. And forget about "high master volume" settings, I am using a '77 Super Lead without a master volume and fully cranked with it. No issues whatsoever.
The Fryette noise/squeal "issues" comes from improper placement of the unit. If the PS output transformer is too close to your amp's output transformer you have these issues. Fryette made some really helpful video tutorials about this.
That said, the Reload II looks interesting, I may give one a try eventually.

Yep and I run a Suhr SL68 so basically a 100 watt 68 Plexi clone into mine. Where it sits is important. Fryette gear is like all gear…. they have situations where they fit better than others.

Hum or other issues are common. Isolation transformers are a godsend.

Just make sure to get it in the right place! I was putting mine into the front of the amp, like I was doing to break up ground loops with multi-effects units. But with my Suhr, it needed to be on the output of the Suhr.
That was probably the issue with the Fryette @DG80
