Two Notes Reload II, with "Celestion-Approved Load"

might invoke reciprocal actions
Most definitely. Evidently mentioning he who must not be named has similar consequences.

Any update on when these may arrive in the US?
Thanks for getting back to me. A batch of stock is arriving imminently but it is limited in terms of quantity - as such I would suggest getting a preorder in to secure a unit from this batch! Let me know if you need anything else!

Thanks - I have had one on preorder from GC for about a month or so.

@Ross Davies

My Reload II should arrive today. I'm reading through the manual and I noticed this:

Muting the Reload power amp and connection to cabs seems totally fine and indeed sensible.

However, it's not clear to me if "disconnect the load box" also means that the load will be disconnected from the tube amp whilst the amp is running hot and still in use?

If so, that would be a concern!

I'd appreciate some clarification 🙏

Yeah, that isn't very clear language. What are the chances of a loadbox hitting 100 degrees? I really don't know actually!

Be very interested to hear what you think of this @jellodog once you've had some time with it. I want a 2nd loadbox.

Indeed. The load is rated to 200w and I'm only going to use a 50w amp with it, so it should be totally fine. I'd still like some clarification though.

Also, the manual says to always turn on the Reload II before powering up the connected amp; which is unusual, because most load boxes have the load passively inline even when the unit is switched off. I'd like some clarification on that too.

Obviously, I have the ability to follow this simple instruction.

It's just that I like to know that there's a failsafe if I make a mistake and forget to do this; or the load isn't plugged in properly (power strip is switched off or whatever). I wouldn't have to worry about making mistakes like that with a Suhr RL, for example.

My initial impressions are that it's really good!

Caveat: I no longer have a Suhr RLIR to compare it against though.

Regardless, it's sounding pretty sweet to me - and in fact sounds better than I had expected (although my hopes were high).

And this is running the load cab-less, DI into my RME interface with IR. I've not tried the power amp.

Power amps in it are good. I haven’t taken it louder than upper 90 dB’s but I believe it can do the job at band rehearsal levels.
And man it is so nice to have that stereo spread into a pair of ‘real cabs’ in the room. Stereo effects loop in it makes it truly wonderful. My VP4 lives in that loop from the day I first put it there.

There is nothing to worry about here - the Amp will be placed on a safety load if this occurs! Note that this is a rare occurrence so it is unlikely to happen unless you are covering the fan and intake vents :)

It does look pretty awesome. The load box + solid state amp to control volume does seem like a better approach to taming a really loud tube amp. Still have to contend with old Fletcher & Munson but that's not a gear thing. Looks pretty classy too!

Glad to hear you like it! If you have any questions, let me know! :)
