Two Notes Reload II, with "Celestion-Approved Load"

Two Notes offers way cheaper products like the Cab M+ or OPUS for that already.

To me the Reload II is like a Power Station with wet/dry/wet rig capabilities. If I didn't own a Fryette PS-100 already, I think I would be interested in this just to build a stupid, big home wet/dry/wet rig.

This might be for someone who wants to run e.g a cranked Plexi on stage, and then needs to bring a somewhat heavy extra box to make that happen at sensible volumes. With this setup, they could bring an extra cab to do a wet/dry rig without any additional weight besides the cab.

I get that not having a built-in IR loader means you aren't able to run a cab sim signal to FOH, but at the same time I see the Reload as a long-term proof product when it has no digital component. As cab sims evolve you can plug in better gear to it without having a feature end up as "that old thing".

If you want to record, then you have the software component included for cab sims.

A Captor and 2x100W of Class D power are, like, 400-ish new?
If you don't need the load box, a Bray LO-1 or basically any DI-box with a pad would do.
With a cheap Pedal Board Amp like this and this DI, you're in for the fun for 115 Eurodollars.
The Reload II is a nifty solution, but a thousand bucks?

A Seymour Duncan PowerStage S(tereo) is @$699 and the CaptorX is @$400 and they together still don’t cover everything the Reload II will add.

A HB stereo power amp or 2 of their power amp pedals are gonna be 150 bucks. A Captor (not X) is 200 bucks.

Easiest... Run amp into AxeFx and do the sides (wet) from sims.

Or just get a Boss SDE3k EVH

Since it's really straight forward from the video what this thing does and they fully fleshed out the "mojo" button so well, I'm sure it's going to sell really well, especially at that price point of double everything else.

A capture box? No it doesn't capture. A load box, yeah. A stereo solid state power amp? I think so, but I don't know why. IRs? Not in the box. Hey it's a Reload, it should be great for reamping, right? Well no.

My question for the Reload II:

Actually now that I think of it, it doesn’t actually even have the functionality of the first one, right?

The Duncan PowerStage is very overpriced. For $499 you can get an Avantone CLA 100 and get class AB, Mosfet power that will sound/feel much better than Class D.

Another 350 for a Suhr Reactive Load and you have a better system for less than this unit.

I'll argue that an all-in-one is a better system just for pure convenience.

I could build my own Power Station from a loadbox and a poweramp, but now I have extra cabling, probably extra weight, two boxes instead of one, maybe the poweramp is not designed to be as neutral as the PS etc.

For carting stuff yes. But the flip side is with components I j7st brab what I need. Otherwise I'd just use a powered Kemper or the lil MkV:25 combo.
And seeing that I'd still have to grab an IR loader it's not that all in one.

I don't think it's just carting stuff, but also using it. You have one control panel where you work your load+poweramp and that's it. It's just simpler, kind of like it's simpler to use one amp with multiple channels vs using two separate amps.

Of course you can argue that maybe an IR loader box is more purpose designed to be easy to use for that thing, and a loadbox is more purpose design to be easy to use for that thing...

Actually I don't see a need for the load to be accessible, that's a one time setting if there are even option.

It might just be that I'm used to seperate components from the rack days..

It looks like another great product from TwoNotes 👍
Shame it couldn’t have a smaller footprint and rack mount option ?

In terms of the Fryette Power Station, I agree. I think getting a Fryette power amp plus a loadbox for $899/1199 (depending on PS wattage) is actually good value.

This Torpedo unit is nearly the same price (more than the PS2) with Class D power amps? I'd rather build my own for less and with a better power amp.

Yeah specs looks killer, and stereo!
I had the original Reload, while it was a game changer™ for me to be able to record an amp silently, the built in power amps was pretty weak, and when I later got the Suhr Load I also noticed the load itself didn't sound as good as the Suhr.
Hopefully they fixed that.
Yeah hard pass for me on the TN stuff. Colors the sound more than I like and every unit I owned had noise issues, even the Revv amps with built in TN tech. Fryette, Suhr, Tone King etc are better by miles IME.

When I first got the Captor 7 or 8 years ago when it first came out, it was absolutely insane and was a total gamechanger for me. Before that, I was doing slave sends and preamp sends from my amps to my PC, running RedWirez speaker impedence curves and IRs. The Captor made it so I could record my whole amp, and that was awesome. However, over time I realized I was EQing the heck out of anything from the Captor in ways I didn't have to do once I discovered other load boxes that have much more normal-sounding impedance curves. It was a great starting point, but I've kinda moved on from their catalog.

If they release a new Captor X that has a normal-sounding impedance curve, I'd look into it, but the constant having to re-log in every time I want to move IRs became a chore. Their software would have to hit as well.

It can also do stuff the reload can’t, so it just proves Apples != Oranges.
I guess whatever they do that the Reload II can’t is not anything I need.
What they don’t do is what’s got me looking past them.
That’s why I’ll be selling them when the Reload II gets here
