Trading up or nah?

I have a set of Creambacks in my 2x12 that I never felt very connected with. They are leaving today in a Craigslist trade for a set of UK Greenbacks. I have a couple of old (1973) greenbacks that I really like the best so maybe I’ll do a 4x12 with them instead of putting the new speakers in my 2x12. I hope they sound similar to the old greens. At least closer than the creams.

They definitely sound different. Better is in the ears of the listener.

Yeah. I definitely miss that woody midrange growl thing. I’m hoping I’m less worried about blowing these speakers out then the 1973s.

I did the swap two hours ago. Got them installed. Man, yes. This is what I wanted.

Never tried the Creambacks, but GBs are always a great option. They just work.

I’m definitely in the Greenback camp. I kinda did want some extra power handling but the creams just didn’t do it for me.
