Hello

I am thinking about gettin back to electric guitar after yeras, i have been playing it years agi and year ago i did quit bass guitar, sold all my stuff expect for Mooer Hornet 30w Amp in Vintage white. Now i am kinda sad that i had sold it. Mainly i am into Shoegaze and Alternative Rock like Title Fight, Basement, Wisp, Dinosaur Jr, Narrow Head. There are two guitars in my mind, one is Gretsch Streamline Jet Club in Mint Metallic and other one is Sire Larry Carlton S5 HSS MN CAR. One thing bothers me each guitar. It is color shade, i did research and found some live footage of them at Youtube and google images. Could You tell me if this Mint Metallic is more green or blue? Hard to tell by photos and about Sire, is that Candy Apple Red different than Fender ones? Friend of mine has MiM Jazz Bass and it is in Car, it has a little pink hue too it. Previously i owned Standard MiM Tele in CAR with maple board which also had some pink hue too it which i don't mind. What kind of CAR shade Sire uses? Does it have like orange hue to it, pink, yellow? Any idea about HEX code that sire uses? Hard to say from photos or videos, looks a bit different than Fender CAR color.

Cheers, and thanks folks

Your worries are not really anything to worry about. The colour is the absolute least of the problems.
CAR is actually clear red over gold but most versions by others are just metallic red. ( looks completely different. ) I would give Sire a hard pass personally and see if anything Harley Benton makes fits the bill . Much better quality and still cheap.

I'd skip both, and get a used Player or Player II Strat.

This if you can stretch that far.
I don't know where the OP is, but the H-B is what I'd say a 20-30% chance of being an utter turd. At best in that scenario, it's going to be a $100 setup and side file, sometimes electronics work too. If they just flat out don't like it, they'll have to ship it back. To Germany.

That being said, yeah, I'm not really a Team Sire person either.

The utter turd risk is pretty high on anything that price. Your point about a used MIM Fender is the way to go.
