Fwiw, my black '96 tele is a 50th anniversary. Not of the tele model, but Fender brand.

Haha, I am also surprised and shocked. They’ve always been my favorite. I think I’ve told the story before about how that’s what I wanted when I went to buy my Strat as a kid.

I couldn’t even really tell you why I sold that gold one, I guess I felt like I needed a change.

I do love the neck pickup a lot, mine is the ceramic version, more like the S. The bridge is great too, it's just missing a bit of that snarl that I get with my Fralin.

Yeah, they’re very clean. Maybe “polite” is even a good term? But that makes them incredibly versatile to me
