The Sexy Single Pedal Thread

Still getting to know this one but it’s one pedal and really adjustable with many flavors. You know. Variety. Feels great and is clear sounding. It’s a wiener of a pedal.

Phil X is a madman. He knows his chitlans too.

Trumpets inspiration for me before I cyborged the fuck out of my guitars because I couldn't find one for a noninsane price.

Really? I had no idea. :love

I miss those halcyon days of 2010-14 or so when Paul's waitlist was a
thing and you could score a KILLER custom build for less than $300.

I bought a few direct from him, and have not a single one right now.

Pretty sure I'll plunk down $500-$700 at some point in the future on a
Rotobone GE/Si.

For me, there is nothing else out there like his builds. Full stop.

That's the closest Google hit I could get on Deuxplex, yeah. But JT's "trumpet" comment threw me off the the trail. I thought maybe there was some kind of guitar synth/ slow gear effect going on. No? Just oodles of gain?

The "Plex" is a recent addition in the grand scheme of things. Fairly clean OD. Hence, the "Plex"
designation. Compared to his initial offerings I found it quite tame and a bit boring and bland.

His Tornita, Bone Machine, Feederbone, and Rotobone are all the wild offerings he became
known for. There was even a take on the Bone pedals by J Rockett called the WTF.

David Torn does some amazing things with Paul's builds and I believe the Tornita ("Torn) was
made specifically for him before being offered to the wider public.

Also, Paul is just a wonderful human. Sensitive artist type with a gentle soul. Love the guy!

It's the rotobone, iirc? Has that splatty horn sound \m/

Yup. Many/most of his builds did that thing. I could never rely on it. :idk

That fuzzy/gated analog octave down thing was so fun. But in the
moment..... it could be hard to control.

Different Capacitor values on an indented Rotary control combined with a
Jordan Bosstone circuit. More or less.

Yeah I got a J Rockett thing that was "kinda" like it, it was noisy af and didn't do "the thing" so I said fuck it and went full blown Revenge of the Nerds with Roland :facepalm:rofl
