The Mothership - Pedalboard Build Pt3

Light Pedal
Total dice throw. I wanted to add a real spring reverb pedal since I have all the other reverb variants covered elsewhere. I landed on this since the SurfyBear stuff wouldn’t fit with the real estate I had open. Base spring reverb sounds good. All the clank and jangle. I throw on some trem with it and it’s full on burning man acid trip vibes. The sweep mode is really cool too, to get some extra movement. I don’t know if I can get high enough to use some of the more esoteric modes, but soon? I’m only scratching the surface with it, but I think it will survive the gauntlet.
I also get stuck on the tremolo setting a lot! Though lately I’ve been moving my Light pedal from the fx loop to before the amp and blasting away on the freaky modes with lots of fuzz/dist/gain. Soooo much fun just cranking out weird noises with this pedal!

That’s how I run it, straight into amp. It’s the last in chain for the mono side of things. I really dig it. Super unique.

I thought the pedal was too aggressively out there at first, but then realized the drive control is really important. If you keep that low to moderate it’s just a really nice spring. Once you start getting aggressive with the drive it morphs into a more character/experimental verb.

I’ve been having fun with it, especially paired with a tremolo etc. Normally spring and trem aren’t my thing, but one of the first versions of the board I did I went with all-in with the core pedals I had lying around, got done building it, then realized I had this elaborate board of two core tones. :ROFLMAO: Granted those were my favorite base tones, but the board wasn’t really giving me a chance to get too creative or fresh. (6 chorus and flanger pedals sounds cool in theory :rofl ) That’s when I started mixing in a couple of the oddballs like the Light Pedal, and it’s been really fun to figure out how to integrate them into whatever it is I do.
