Anyone here tried this trem and any thoughts ?

Fundamentally flawed design. Rollers when you don’t need them. It will stay in tune but sound bad compared to a fulcrum . There are so many vastly better options.Anyone here tried this trem and any thoughts ?

The one that preserves pitch difference would need to be a cam and rollers but how much guitar performance are you willing to sacrifice for that incredibly marginal feature? Even vibrato with this unit will kill sustain .I don't know about that. What other trem keeps a chord in tune without rollers?
It’s not a small amount .At $800 in the US, I am not interested at all, but I can definitely see a lot of players being willing to give up a little sustain/tone for that ability. If it was $100 it would sell pretty well I bet.
So is that the case for the Kahler cam bridge as well? It essentially reels the string in and out when using the bar. One advantage is that you can go to drop D without making the rest of the strings go out of tune. Steinberger TransTrem has rollers too…The cam and rollers design is seriously detrimental to the quality of the note produced and if the available string length changes during use the loss of string energy to the process is horrendous.
Yes and you can’t drop the tension on one string without the cam moving. If moves less but it still moves. So is that the case for the Kahler cam bridge as well? I’m not sure I’m following you when you say “think about vibrato”…are you referring to finger vibrato or a different bridge like a Bigsby?Yes and you can’t drop the tension on one string without the cam moving. If moves less but it still moves.
The TT function can not be archived unless you can independently adjust the distance from the fulcrum to the string witness point without altering either the action or the intonation. So cam and rollers is the only option.
Think of how the vibration is affected by the reeling process. It needs to disperse in to the extra length when you press down and it chokes when you pull up. Now think about vibrato, it kills the sustain stone dead almost immediately compared to a fulcrum design. It also has a high part count between the witness point and the wood,
Fulcrum designs also have concentrated points of contact with the guitar which helps transfer the string energy to the body.

Got it. Which trems do you prefer and recommend?Vibrato with the bar.
Ones that work.Got it. Which trems do you prefer and recommend?
I’m a trem fanatic, so I appreciate you letting me pick your brainOnes that work.

The newer VS1300 is the best of these .
Vega is good if you like the feel.
There are a few others that work fine but not better than these. I’m looking at materials and performance but also the design. There are plenty of ill advised designs that get beautifully built but still are flawed.
