That new Mesa 2x12 half back. What's the consensus?

A local vendor is having a $25% off sale on everything in the store and he has one of the new 2x12s in stock. I'm thinking about pulling that trigger

I have a C90 in a sealed back 112 and I do like it. The top open back part kind of has me at jury out status though. It would definitely spruce up the Mark wall though :satan

IMO the halfback cabs can be helpful in a couple scenarios. The open back can give you better dispersion if you’re relying on the cab for on stage volume/monitoring. They can also be useful in the studio where you can mic the closed OR open back portions to tune how much thump or openness you want.

Think of it this way..., there was a time when Mesa was "The price is the price." No deals whatsoever. :rollsafe

I bought my Stereo 50/50 from a mom & pop store that was well-known for negotiating, but on that item, he flat-out told me they could lose their Mesa dealership, so the best he could do was knock off the tax.

Guess that's one good thing about Gibson. :rofl:sofa
