Your user title probably needs to Mark Hoarder at some point :bag

haha love it!

Maintaining self control at the moment... curious to observe if it disappears quickly or not.

I'm kinda thinking/hoping that an overall trend is happening to IIIs coming back down to more rational prices

Something definitely has gone awry in this area!! And according to the board and schematic, those diodes should've been 4007, but they weren't according to my tech.

Looks like the tracks on the board are burnt out. Mod is going to be needed I think, coz the board itself looks like a pure fucking KNIGHTMARRRRRREEEEEE to get out of the chasis.

Dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!! What did you do Orv to offend the Gods?? :hmm

Man, that looks brutal. Scorched Earth PCB/Traces is like a nightmare scenario. :(

Sorry, Mate. Truly. :hugitout

Better start making sacrifices and penance now. :knit

The Gods are cruel and uncompromising. :brick

Sorry, mate. Hope it all gets sorted out for you.

I consider the Mark V irreplaceable.

How does the reverb sound on your Mark V's? I feel like I have to have the amp at a fairly loud setting on the channel master, and the reverb on ch1 (only one where I use it) turned up quite high for it to be really present. I feel like my Strymon Flint in the fx loop with the mix on about 4/10 is much more noticeable.

I'm wondering if I have some weak signal to the reverb tank or something.

Amp is fixed. Picking it up tonight.

The built in reverb is a bit meh in my opinion, but then, apart from the Orange Rockerverb MKI, they all are. I rarely enjoy amp reverb. Just not wet enough.

Yeah if I ever convert this to a head, I will probably just leave out the reverb tank.

Still, I remember the Bogner Goldfinger having a much more prominent spring reverb.

What things were fixed on your amp? Just the diodes and tracks? How expensive was the fix?

So this is two guitars and drums. Amps are my Mark V, and also the other guitarist is playing a 5150III 50-watter; the stealth 6L6 version.

I'm really digging the tones, even from just a rough jam in a room type thing. I'm also loving my RV-5 plus bb535 wah combination for the lead stuff. Sounds siiiiicckkkk.
Your Adam Jones is showing.

Reading some old Boogieforum posts, it seems my reverb issue is related to me using channel 1 in Tweed mode. For some reason the reverb seems to drop drastically in that mode.

Honestly just more reason to leave out the reverb tank if I convert it to a head. I know on the head there's a weird cutout for the reverb tank at the bottom, and putting it so close to transformers increases likelihood of noise.

I haven’t even tried the reverb tank yet, like you said there are so many “better” options out there digitally.

My amp tech is a legend. He's one of my best friends, and I named my son after him. I didn't pay a penny!

But yeah, it was one of the tracks.

I just got it home. About to plug it in and rock out with my Johnson in Nevada.
I guess you don't have any pics of the repair?

Hopefully it will work without issue for years to come!

Yes. Yknow what, the analog and tape modes are really really damn good!

That's literally what I wanted to hear. I'll not distract you from your mark V anymore today. When you're ready let me know what you think about the reverse delay and if there's anything annoying about it.
