TGF Official Amp Mesa Boogie Mark series. Join the fun and get one today!

I was in love with my Mark just using it with IRs, but today has shown me the way. HOLY SHIT 😍. Maybe the open back (which is like 2/3 closed) in my room works nicely, because I’m questioning whether I really want to or need to make it convertible (curiosity will kill that cat eventually).

10/10 amp and cab pairing here though,

That must sound absolutely crushing - I'd leave that partial open back as is as I'm sure that helps it all breathe a little bit without sound too open.

hee... thats awesome. even for heavy sounds i really prefer open cabs for myself. my combo by itself isnt bad- but with a thiele it's pretty great, and i just mic the combo.. all the chonk in the room, but not too much bass in the mic. and if you can't hear yourself, you're doong something wrong 😄

Mark IV mode just has the aggressive angry tone that I feel xtreme lacks. It’s a volume bump going to xtreme which itself is annoying, but despite its name I feel like it’s the tamest of the three high gain modes on the mark V.

Extreme has some things going for it, but I fully agree, MkIV mode is the best high gain mode on the V. I only deviate to extreme or IIc if I’m bored. And still always end back up on IV mode
