[Tease] Darkglass Anagram - NAM profile player & multieffects unit

So now we have an official screen from japanese seller. Now the big question is : IS IT ONLY FOR BASS PLAYERS? (and will it read std nam?)

This looks like what the QC Nano should have been.
Meh.

If the NC had been made with this form factor, I would've not bought it.

More expensive, bigger, and still not a full all-in-one unit.

Of course We all have our tastes and use cases, but for me, the NC is spot on for the specific case of using it integrated in a pedalboard.

So, in my opinion, the NC is great in its actual form factor and price (I bought it new for 400€).

As a counterpoint, a HX Stomp, Boss GT-1000 Core, or Hotone Ampero 2 Stomp is about 1/3 larger than the Nano Cortex and they are all full blown multifx units.

IMO the design of the Nano Cortex is a bit of a joke considering its full retail price point, and the way that NDSP has still not even given it any updates that give it more fx etc. The feature I hate most on it is the fx amount adjustment. That could be perfectly mapped to all the knobs (each adjusting the fx amount of a specific effect) instead of having to cycle through the different fx one by one.

The Hotone is exactly what a "Dual Cortex" should have been, and I think that Darkglass box is closer too.

It's hard to gauge how big it is from these poor quality pics, but guessing by footswitch size it's maybe a bit wider than a HX Stomp but slightly less deep? It remains to be seen how well it works in practice, but I think it should be a pretty pedalboard friendly size.

The NC knows plenty happy users who bought it sound of mind, seems to be a succesfull product..appearently they did something right. I don’t use one, but I get it, small, simple, hardware capable of capturing…if that’s what you want it makes total sense.

They are multiefectos but NOT all-in-one units for complex gigs because of the lack of switches. And they require much more power juice to be run, so integrating then in a pedalboard takes extra hassle for powering. They're also bigger. In my use case, sorry but I still much prefer the NC to those. Actually, didn't buy those because they're just "meh" for a use case like mine.

IMO, it's not. Again... For my use case it's much better suited than anything in the market.

You buy a unit for what is maybe going to offer in the future, I see. I buy gear if it fits my needs as it is currently.

I find it perfect. Simple, extremely well built, small, low power...

The NC is not a Dual Cortex... It's the Nano Cortex. I wouldn't buy a Dual Cortex in the way you're describing it. The Hotone is in another quality league, sorry. Never heard of an encoder getting stuck overnight.

I'm seeing how a few here tell once and again what NDSP should have done... Wishful thinking for your tastes. They took a decision, made a product and as far as it goes, for me it's been fantastic. Any other design and I would have been out.

That's fair, but I think you can still do a decent amount with the footswitches of a HX Stomp, Hotone, Boss etc.

Nah, I've specifically not bought a Nano Cortex because of its lack of features. I've learned from the QC to never expect anything from Neural DSP, even when they make promises.

The encoder issue is an anomaly, that's all it is. Hotone has actually just shipped me a new set of encoders that I can solder in myself, should be here in a week or two. Even with the encoder removed, I can use the box without issue because the Menu/value knob can be used in place of the center encoder, or I can just use the touchscreen. I think that's pretty great for having fallbacks.

Otherwise the Hotone A2 Stomp has been rock solid, and I think for it's price point it's a good product, even if it's far from perfect.

Glad you are happy with yours, but I don't think it's the product many were actually hoping for.

Of course. And it's also the product that many were waiting for too.

You can't do the best thing for everyone.

And don't forget that here we are "four cats" (as we say in Spain). What we discuss in this forum is just a minuscule part of the market. None of us is leading NDSP, and based on sales, I guess they are perfectly fine doing things like they do, instead of listening to those 4 cats that we are here.
