[Tease] Darkglass Anagram - NAM profile player & multieffects unit

The thing basically looks like a Nano Cortex / NDSP box
Yes , if it is the same $1799 USD they are nuts
It was listed at an Australian retailer so that would be AUD which is ~ 1000 EUR / 1123 USD

What would be funny, as in a ‘karmic punchline to a joke funny’ is if the QC was originally a Darkglass product concept and Korg now ‘accidentally’ owned the rights to produce their version of anything they received in the turnover of physical and intellectual property in the sale.

And what you see there is a real nano sized but full featured cortex and it will hit the market at $750. The marketing copy will read:
“FFC coming way sooner….way, way sooner!”

Didn't they already release something 5 years ago that still doesn't do what was promised?

We all need to go the other way.

Go back to buying cheap Digitech pedals from the 90's and 2000's, and fuck all this modelling boolakalaka.

VP4 is $699USD and $1570ish here... $1799 could mean more $899 kinda realm (welcome to mysterious Australia tax). Still pricey but that puts it in that realm between flagship and mid tier offerings.

Just my 2c.

Even if it goes for US$ 899 or $US 999 that's the price of a Helix LT. Now with the latest Tariff "exemptions" it is quite probably / hopeful that the FM3 will stay around the US$ 1099 to US $ 1199.

Unless you are utterly hell bent on using static-single-shot Captures, at the expected price point, this product - given what we so far know - makes less than zero sense. Its pricing is absurd.

Seriously just look at how amazingly the Helix and Fractal are updated and supported - the enormous range of modeled everything etc..... given what is already out there, this is one of the worst "price-to-feature-ratio" pricings I have seen in a loooong time.

Oh and by the way .... did I mentioned to stupidly priced ;)

Those $1,799.00 would be Australian, right?
Eh a little on the high side.... Give us just the NAM Player that can handle some complex NAM captures.

Nope.gif

I´m reading all the thread but Can´t help being confused about companies...

Does NDSP belong to Korg? Or both NDSP and Darkglass do? Or the latter is false? I´m a little lost, sorry! Can anyone help me to clean my messy mind?

EDIT: ... or is Doug still involved with Darkglass in some way?
That's a very good & valid question. If there was any such agreement between Korg & Doug, that would probably be under some sort of NDA etc.

I haven't seen any posts of his or Korg's, after that sale announcement in 2022, that he'd still be involved in Darkglass (but they didn't state the contrary either).

So yeah - we don't know.

Interesting.

If he had still some "influence" or "charge" at Darglass, and they are launching a unit with NAM capabilities... That would be something to think about, regarding NDSP propietary capturing tech vs free NAM tech.

I wouldn't even bother wasting mind cycles over it; they're so far behind porting plugins etc that new stuff such as NAM compatibility must be at the basement level of their priorities list.

I was meaning that they shouldn´t be feeding NAM... since they´ve got their own capturing tech, which is what they should be empowering.

Of course, I don´t see NAM as something NDSP will ever support. And that´s why I think it´s interesting about this Darkglass unit, in case Doug was in the shadows.
