Ehhh, I don't get why they ever discontinued the 30 with its 5881 power section and then replaced it with an EL84 amp. Why not just add all the cool stuff to the original power amp?

I feel like there ain't a whooooooooooole lot of modules in the line up that are begging to be dropped into a 1x12 open back combo format. The heads I get. But I feel like there are plenty of good combos that could get the full, or very close to the full, breadth of sounds one might be interested in with this guy.

Z Wreck and IICP alone would be enough to interest me. I don’t know of any other combo that could give me both of those preamp options in the same amp. This could be a very useful tool for the work I do

I've played a Friedman 1x12 (Runt, I think?), and I'd MUCH rather have a head and closed back 1x12 or 2x12, so I imagine the head will outsell the combo by alot.

Technically the Friedman and Wampler Power Amp emulator/IR loader products are using the Synergy power amp modeling/IR loading and software interface.

I would think almost everyone who wants an open back combo would feel the same way. It's a really bizarre choice on their end.

There are actually quite a few open back 1x12 cabs with V30’s on the market.

I also haven’t checked the dimensions on this combo, it may be bigger and not be as boxy as the JJ (or other) Friedman combos
