Synergy Owners Thread

I find the Be-Dlx to be a less extreme version of the Kali in a way. They are both modded Plexi styles, but the KK gets more extreme.
That's kind of why the Kali is a more interesting module to me. I'm so used to my BluGuitar being basically a Plexi with a huge bright cap, and I know how to work around that. So the Kali seemed like it did all that nice "raw" stuff whereas I find Friedmans often are a bit more polite - smoother, bigger low end. More pleasant for many for sure.

For those that have received the new JCM module, does yours have the same PCB version as this and this set of handwired SMD modifications? It looks like a JFET circuit was added and forced to work with the existing SMD pads.

Just want to make sure this is what everyone is receiving as new out of the box.

There's a very easy mod you can do on the BE-DLX module on the top channel by simply bypassing (just wire a plain conductor lead in parallel with it) the resistor between the Treble pot and Master. It brings in a nice amount of hair & makes it a bit more open / aggressive, not as dark. Doing it doesn't affect the bottom channel so it's a pretty awesome thing to try.
Jeremy from Ground Zero suggested doing it on the amp but it works on the Synergy module as well.

I just checked mine and it looks like this also. They must have had a last minute mod that needed done.

Although, I will say, this picture looks far worse than it looks in person. The whole area is like the size of a dime.

My second synergy module.
Sounds tight but very forward, this will cut through a mix…

Would is be wise to change the tubes seeing its age ?
Noise level is ok but not low.
Also the knobs feel very wobbly, before damaging Anything, can they just be replaced ?

My tech said they rarely wear out, but occasionally age and vibration can make them microphonic. That is the only time he recommends changing them.
I think that sounds more like what I was thinking, personally I have only had 1 die and it didn't fade, just one day it was dead. I have seen at least 1 person that had issues with a tube in a Synergy module too so it's not impossible. If you have spares to try it can't hurt to see if you notice any difference.
