Synergy Owners Thread

Here is the bottom half. Tonight I had the JCM800 going through the KTG2100, which is a 200w KT88 Poweramp.

I actually have a JCM800 2203 clone, and one really nice thing about this module is I have an "effects loop" with it. With the real amp there is no loop, so you cant use Delay or Reverb or anything. This module allows me to get that sound with the flexibility of all the effects.
Rack people are a different breed. It's like you either have 1 rack unit like an AxeFx or something... or you have 5 full racks of gear :rofl
All so epic

The funny thing is I am not even a huge effects user. I mostly bought a lot of this back when it was cheaper because it was stuff I wanted when I was younger, but couldn't afford it back then. I pretty much have them all dialed in to do the same thing, but just switch it around as my mood changes.

The big thing is the mixer. I dont like the way running through any digital unit messes with my dynamics. Even the Fractal units. I still run them in parallel with the mixer because they all mess with my chug dynamics.

Then you will love this picture I just took, lol.

I just got the JCM800 tonight, but I think it sounds great so far! I love that attacky feel and mid crunch when boosted for early 90s metal sounds. It definitely has a different feel to many of my other high gain modules.

Gorgeous, @Shask !! Killer rack setup.

Us rack guys are doing our best to bring back the Eighties, and the era of Heroic Guitar…one rack device at a time.

I think I need to graduate to a 10U or 12U rack. I need to make room for a forthcoming Soldano X88-IR, my Furman AR-1215 series 2 voltage regulator, and a forthcoming Line Mixer.

I am absolutely torn between a Synergy SYN-20IR, or just going full Rack glory with the Soldano X88-IR. My heart tells me to go for the X88.
I have a few separate pre amps and amps
If i would start over it would all be synergy.
And i love my vintage amps and pre amps but the synergy just sounds awesome and it's super flexible. The start is steep but after that the modules are affordable and even cheap for what you get.

Super smart system and I believe the only way to really beat modellers.

I have the Sun-20IR and it sounds great, no regrets.

All you sim bitches make me want a Mesa power amp and the syn2.

I think I will resist it. I only play at home and it’s plenty. Could always put it in the return of a big boy.

No first hand experience but the Kali is 50% the reason I want to go down the rabbit hole, the new JCM800 one is another 20%... The kali looks awesome.
I returned the Kali - this is was mainly because I already had the Friedman BE DLX which I preferred.

I couldn’t get the bright switches to a place where I thought they sounded good and overall didn’t give me enough variation over what I already had.

The DRECT, Killer Kali, and Ubershall are IMO the best Synergy modules I've played. The DRECT and KK give me almost any tone I want to get. Awesome modules.
I haven't played the DRECT, but I agree, the Kali and Uber are superb. Just one of those modules, with the clean channel in the SYN20 or SYN30/50 (used), and I'd be all set.

I also agree with most on the Vai, and I thought the same thing with his 2x12 that I tried from Carvin. Beautiful cleans, nice solo tones, but not something I'd use for rhythm. I've actually never been a big fan of any of his rhythm tones, going back to the 80's.

A SYN2 would slot in nice and still leave room for the x88.
