Synergy Owners Thread

So the SYN-30 is perfection in small amp head form. Not overloaded with features I don't care about as it's "powered" by el84s. Barf. Of course; it's not available anymore. Because why would it be.

Yeah I'm kinda frustrated as a SYN-20IR owner because it does sound wimpy even compared with my Friedman 20W EL84 JEL-20. The SYN-30 would be ideal, but it doesn't have an overall master volume which is a feature that I like on the SYN20. It also has some other weirdness like the IR being disabled vs enabled causes an XLR output level shift of ~6dB.

I ordered a KSR PA50R and if that works out I'll just convert over to a rack config for Synergy and move on.

I had one & the thing really lacked balls.. like literally neutered. The thing could get loud but felt like plastic. IMHO they did good to get rid of it but it would have been awesome if they replaced it with something like a 50W unit..

To put things into perspective, my Bluguitar Amp1 Iridium feels & sounds more tube-amp-like than what the SYN-30 was giving me.
Yikes to all of this. Sounds like a bullet dodged. I am looking for something a little more compact to be a Multiwatt standin and the DRect module is a good way to go about that. It's the power amp part that is going to trip me up. I don't want the Syn50 because I'm not going to run dual modules and don't want as big of a footprint as my Multiwatt otherwise I'd just bring it.

I'll probably stick to just doing nothing :LOL:

I know the feeling - what grinds my gears is seeing something like the SYN20IR and having a hard time wondering why can't they just do a SYN50IR too... I mean Victory do 50W lunchbox heads already & I suspect it wouldn't be too hard for BAD / Synergy to do it too..

My other thought is to get a SYN1 and use 4CM to add a module as add-on amp channels to a head. An easy way to still be able to use modules but stay away from a full rack rig.
That works or pair a SYN-1 with something like the Bluguitar Amp1 Mercury/ Iridium in 4CM. That setup works pretty well & sounds/feels right too; it's just that you'd know it's not a "big iron " power section.

I have a SYN-30 head and I don't find any of that to be my experience whatsoever. To each their own, but I love mine.

The SYN1 for my use needs to be matching with something similar sized for power amp purposes. A Blug power amp would be AWESOME. The form factor would make me twitch incorporating it with my amps. It's a me thing more than anything else.

Quick question
We can't demo the modules here.

I have a Vai module that I love.
However Im looking for a module that has a brutal very tight rhythm tone.

My eyes fell on the Powerball or peavy.

I already own a carvin v3 and DSL20 and some other more cleaner amps.

What would be something completely different from the Vai module ?

The Vai module is already very versatile. But in the rhythm part i think it can be tighter ;)
