This is a really neat feature and sounds great IMO. I tuned a couple of Blackstar Dual Drive/Distortion preamp pedals. Hooked them up to the Stage and played while the Ampero “learned” them. Then you get to directly compare them side by side and there’s an optional second run called “Fine Tuning.” I don’t hear any of the enhanced low end some have reported and I don’t have any free software to do a null test. Although I’d love to do that as well if someone feels like suggesting options or has guidance.

Bottom line: it sounds really, really good to me. It captures the essence of tone and feel of these pedals. I think it’s quite remarkable and super neat. It’s also fun to do. I simply added a 2290 Mod delay and HQ 140 Plate and boom… went to town. No need for EQ or noise gate. I experimented with a Phaser 90 in front of the SoundClone and it sounded pretty fantastic. I can’t say how others might feel or what an analysis would report but I am impressed. It’s also very easy and pretty quick to do. It looks to use about as much CPU as a whitebox amp model would. The future is bright on this I think. A very fun and productive Sunday for me!

This does not happen with it own capture features, just with NAM file conversion.

The captures can be a mixed bag where you might have to try a few times to get a good result. Sometimes the fine tuning helps, other times it makes things worse.

That’s what I have found on the fine tuning as well. A revert option would be a nice FW addition. I think the fine tuning is heavily dependent upon the playing done during the interval as far as success.
