Several years back me and my gf were in Japan. We went to a conveyor sushi place because they're fun and get you to try all kinds of stuff.

My gf picked up a plate with two pieces of something neither of us knew what it was but it looked pretty good. She ate one piece, then asked me to try it. I wondered why she was making weird faces about it and took the other piece and put it in my mouth.

Looked a lot like this salmon roe one. That doesn't look too bad, right?

It was a nattogunkanmaki, natto + rice + seaweed. It tasted awful. But neither of us dared to spit it out as the chefs on a conveyor sushi place are basically right there in front of you. So here we are both struggling to eat the damn thing while holding a neutral face.

Makes for a fun story in hindsight tho!
