Sonulab Stompstation Pro (NAM player pedal)

Received mine today!

Didn’t have time to explore it properly, but I managed to update it to the latest firmware. I also loaded a @2dor NAM capture and a York IR, mainly to make sure everything was working. I got a bit sidetracked just playing, so I didn’t get any further.

It’s really compact. Here’s a photo with a Jazz III pick for size reference:

Nice! Please let us know how it goes.

I'm curious about: noise levels / gapless preset changes / tap tempo / how's the tuner / going direct to FOH

As it's extremely similar to the normal Stompstation, I can answer a few already. But there might be slight differences or experience, so @Richard_G will be able to confirm:
  • Noise is very low. The transformers are good. But you will require a clean power source. I had issues when using a power split cable (which did not surprise me).
  • Presets change Gapless. I still (rarely) have issues with incorrectly loaded profiles sometimes, giving me a weird muffled sound. Might be due to the converted profiles on the smaller Stompstation. I'm really curious if this problem exists with the Pro too.
  • The tuner is surprisingly good and works with very slight delay in the app. I assume the bigger screen will improve the tuner for on device use. But it still is a very small unit, if your eyes are bad, use your phone or a dedicated tuner. The color of the builtin LED does show you if you're in tune too. Polytune is not available as far as I know.
  • Direct to FOH is easy, just use a TRS to XLR cable. The output signal is balanced for both outputs. You can set a different output level for each path and save it along with the preset.
I haven't tested Tap Tempo though.

Much appreciated!

Hello everyone!
I'm excited about the SSPro. I have a couple of questions about its connectivity options... Can I use a 4CM? Since the SSPro has two inputs and two outputs, can I use the second output as a SEND and the second input as a RETURN?
If so, where exactly in the chain would this loop be located?

Thanks!

No, ther is no FX loop. It's 2 inputs and stereo outputs. From the manual:
Input
StompStation PRO features two independent inputs (Input 1 and Input 2), each with dedicated
controls to precisely adjust the input signal level according to the connected instrument.
Input 1
• In 1 Digital gain
Input 2
• In 2 Digital gain

According to dlc86 over at the other forum which will not be named..LOL, He's an Italian that has communication with Sonulab. The FX loop using the extra in/out is in development, he's not sure the FX chain will br flexible though for the loop positioning.
