Apparently a new NAM player pedal is about to be released in a few days:

This looks quite interesting. Looking forward to more info about specs etc!
Yeah, me too. Just going by the bits teased so far, it looks like it'll be a great unit. The old one had a much better web ui / file management than the Dimehead. Just hope this one brings in calibration metadata support alongside its other features.

If this has very low latency [~ RTL of 1.5ms or less] and the "price is right" ..... it could well be a big winner ..... ideal for those that want to use NAM Profiles Natively live.

I’d be suspicious if the price is «too good».

Perhaps this could be the better alternative to Dimehead that I’ve been waiting for?

Well .... the Dimehead is $600 EURO .... if this comes in somewhere between $390 EURO <-> 450 EURO its going to be th *the* NAM plyaer "live" pedal to get

Kicks so much a$$ to be honest...

- it has a management app for PC, Mac, iOS and Android
- 14.5 dBU max input gain @ 1MOhm
- stereo
- native NAM
- and latency seems to be comparable to the Fractal FM9 (more on this probably these days)
- calibration metadata support is coming in a subsequent firmware update

I'm curious if it already has a working FX Chain. Sonulab told me it is in the making for the smaller one, but currently the second path is almost useless. It should be included with the next firmware update though.
Still I always think it's not a good sign if they prefer to release half finished products while still working on core functionality. Reminds me of NDSP. At least they're making no big promises. I only dislike that there's almost no information on this.

Edit:

It does. I suppose it's the same as for the small one. Does a great job! It's easy to figure out and you can alter stuff on your phone instead of digging into menus with an Interface that will always be a compromise at this price point and size.
Also it does allow for use with Bluetooth AND Wifi! Which is great, as Bluetooth can be buggy with many radio devices around (like wireless IEM and such) even if it uses Fast-Frequency-Hopping. Haven't checked if it supports 5GHz Wifi though.

Yeah - Leo showcased the FX chain (which is fixed in the release firmware by the looks of it); he took the vid down for some reason though?

Anyway, it was something like this if my visual memory serves:

Input -> Comp -> Mod -> Drive -> AMP/NAM -> IR -> Mod -> Delay -> Reverb

LE: vid's back up now - "on-release" chain looks like this:

Preferably, it ought to be flexible though.

I'm not too worried about subsequent FW updates; at the end of the day, even the top-dogs are doing it &, IMHO, it's a sign that the manufacturer cares about maintaining the product (if those FW releases actually come out).

It's fixed with the small one too. Should be same order. Only IR is missing in your list right behind the AMP (and Drive does not exist within the small one).
But where does the FX-Chain go?

I realized & edited it yeah. From what's been shared with me the top lane is tied to the FX chain with the bottom lane potentially repurposed as an FX Loop.

Maybe a small misunderstanding, I know how it's supposed physically (while the non-Pro has the internal Effects on Input/Lane 1 which is the bottom one). I wanted to know where the insert will be digitally. Probably like with real Amps: Right after the Amp block and before IR?!

That would make the most sense imho though having the option to move it around would be even better.

Totally. But remembering the DSP thread where they were talking about fixed vs. non-fixed Effects and DSP requirements, it will be tough to implement with such a small device. Would be nice for the FX Block itself, because my drive pedal does not go after the amp.

Either way it will work for me at least. Still hope it'll be more flexible than the other blocks.

Anyone already knows whether you can run two fully independent mono chains on this? Like a NAM capture plus IR on each side?

Apart from that, I probably won't be able to use this as a standalone due to the too close switches - and as an amp-only device on my board I possibly wouldn't need the switches at all.
Still interested in the actual latency figures and whether it's switching more or less gaplessly.
IMO, for 400 bucks it better delivered some goods beyond just NAM loading. Otherwise it'd have a tough time replacing my Tonex One Pirate MIDI Pico combo.

No word on the 2 parallel paths & how they can be leveraged just yet - the bottom one ought to allow repurposing as a FX Loop.
Switching is gapless from what I've been told.
Latency figures should also be somewhere in the same ballpark as Fractal; we'll see if what's been shared with me aligns with latency vids when they go live.

Currently not possible. We'll see what the future brings.

It is gapless. I'm thinking about making a video about unanswered things about the smaller unit (feel free to add your questions). This will be part of it. You can play and step on it without hearing any interruption.

If it holds up with the first unit (which I assume) we're at around 2-3ms. The question will be how much more there will be with a second NAM profile.
