Drop D 1-finger chording that has spawned a million songs and Nu Metal riffs. :rawk

Not this finger, either. :rofl

I see. So, why is it a joke these days?

The 0-3-5 thing is pretty much the first stop for the people who got into guitar around the time drop tunings and/or nu-metal was getting popular. If you got every guitarist who started playing in that era together and had them play the first riff they ever wrote, I'd bet 95% of them will start with 0-3-5 in one way or another. I think the first riff I even wrote was an 0-3-5 riff. :rofl

So, so, so many nu-metal riffs either start with or have a variation of 0-3-5 that it's deserving of it's meme status.

Cool how the little embellishments on that 0-3-5 thing can result in such a great variety
of songs. Thinking of We Die Young. Just a little bend takes boring and predictable into WTF??!! :chef

But yeah..... I think every genre has it's cliches. That's probably what qualifies them for
being a genre. :idk
