Simplest Signal Chain Wins

Been slowly removing stuff from the chain and finding that simpler = better at this stage of the game. No power bricks, no pedalboards, no wireless or latency, and damn! is it easy to troubleshoot when necessary.

guitar > OD > preamp > EQ > analog delay > JHS black box > SS amp > cab

5 years ago I was running a modeler with 3 OD/boost pedals in front of it and 4 Strymon units in the loop as well as a full blown laptop/plug-in/audio interface rig along side. Oy Vay! Then one day it hit:

Those days were an absolute blast as was all of the other larger setups along the way, but right now super simple is really working.

agree. I look back at some of my old rigs and just facepalm. I've kept the same rig for a while now and its so easy to setup and tear down plus it sounds amazing. i guess the journey was worth it and you don't normally just stumble onto the best ways to do things at first so it makes sense but I'm just glad I finally got there in the end. we got so crazy at rehearsal last night, i cant wait to record this new stuff.
