Side markers or fretboard markers

I would actually love those every now and then. Tried to "enhance" the sidemarkers with transparent phosphorizing laquer already, but it really only helps in case they're exposed to really bright light before it gets dark, so on a generally dark-ish lightened stage they don't work at all.

Speaking of side dots, the ones on my Ibanez Artist are very tiny in the binding. It just so happens I have small finish chips in a few locations at frets 4 and 8 that have discolored over years. At quick glance they can distract and resemble a side dot.

My eyesight went down hill after a car accident a few years back, so I put thin strips of reflector tape on the side of my neck for my on-stage bass. Works like a charm. Would love to be at a place where I never need to look, but I have like 3-4 basses and 6-7 guitars I play regularly, so my muscle memory is like "FU!" 🤣

Side dots. It never even dawned on me that people use the fret markers until I was showing a former guitar player in my band how to play some stuff when I had my JEM on, he kept getting confused where I was at because the vine inlay and asked how I know where I am. I never even look at the fingerboard when I’m playing, not at an angle where I’d be able to see the inlays anyway.

This is one of the reasons why my Schecter Nick Johnston is pretty bad for teaching as you can hardly see the copper-ring-ish things used as fretboard inlays.

I have that same problem with my Solars. Trying to show my bandmates riffs and all they see is empty frets and the "Galorpamarph" 12th fret inlay. 🤣

Either is fine

I need some side dots for my EGC, which ones do y'all recommend ????

I look at the side fret markers when I need to. If I tried to look at the fretboard markers I'd have to crane my neck and it would look awkward to the audience. Of course sitting down might be diffrent as we usually have the guitar at a bit of an angle on our laps.
