This is my IR and I used it with my bands for a long time:
Some friends (and a few members of the "other forum") still use it and are happy with it.
I created this IR from a Celestion Classic Lead 80 speaker with a Sennheiser E906 microphone (close to the speaker), in a studio—but with a lot of post-equalization, to the point that the frequency response of this IR likely has little to do with the original source.
My goal was to have a sound that fit well in the band's mix (pop and rock genres), both with clean and distorted tones (but far from metal), not to faithfully reproduce a specific speaker and mic. That’s why I remember we applied a lot of high and low cuts and added various midrange processing; in terms of frequency response, it’s more mid-focused than many other IRs.
Unfortunately, I no longer have the original file (before post eq), and sadly, the studio where I made it doesn’t exist anymore due to flooding.
However, with my Helix, I later moved on to using Jay Mitchell's IRs (even more mid-focused, but even better suited for a band mix, in my opinion), and now I mostly use the built-in simulations on the Helix after the recent firmware updates.
