@NightWalker that's awesome!!
Vince’s IRs, 2005 edition. I’ve spent some time refining some of my favorite IRs I’ve made, and I have a pack here free for everyone that I think sounds really good, but I’d love to get your feedback. Here’s the link:

These are IRs made with my SE VR1 Ribbon mic and SM57, just like the other ones posted two years ago in this thread. So what’s different now? I have a collection of about 5000 IRs from the last 15 years, and I’ve had time to really compare/contrast and further refine both my process and my sound. These IRs are further EQd, ever so slightly limited, and normalized, to give a bit more punch than the ones I made before. The high mids/low treble are sculpted a bit more to be more pleasing to the ear, and the overall sound is less scooped, and I did some work to reduce noise.
There are regular files in here made for heavy rhythm guitar, and there are ones with a 3db mid bump meant for lead guitar. The first wave in the IR is right at the start of the file, which to my ears gave it more immediacy than my prior efforts.
The best sounding one to my ears is a mix of the regular EQ’d ribbon mixed with a SM57 with the mid bump, so that’s the 20X “Absolute Magic” IR in the bunch. All the others should mix well with one another as there’s minimal phase.
As always these are free, a labor of love and just a fun nerdy thing I do. If you like and want to support, you can buy an album of mine on my bandcamp page, but there’s really no obligation to do anything, I just enjoy creating and sharing.
Hmm interesting. I shared it just like I did with the older file from before. I just updated the link, can you try again and let me know if it works for you? I tested it in an incognito window and it loads without login. If not I'll try to find a better solution.@Desertdweller, you need to change the properties for your files on Dropbox, they're not accessible straight away (even if I log into DB), I would have to ask you to grant access through DB, which I obviously could do, but I'm sure it's not how you intended things to be like (unless you want our mail adresses).

Thanks for checking them out! I set the length to match the Ultra-Res mode in the FM9, but I can always truncate shorter versions. What size did you need to go to get Logic to accept them?First impression: Seems as if they're keepers. Only used them on a medium driven standard rock riff kinda patch (Voltage model and some drive in HX Native), but that was just fine.
Noticed that when loaded into Logic's Space Designer, they're introducing latency due to their length (quickly trimmed one so I could compare), which really shouldn't happen (but Logic seems to become a shitshow these days anyway and I can't compare with much older versions on this Silicon Macbook Air).
Anyhow, that extra latency doesn't kick in when loading it into HX Native, so things are fine - they will be shortened on import automatically, though, but that's fine, still sounding pretty much the same.
In a nutshell: Thanks for those, will give them a little more careful shootout later on!
Oh let me know how that goes. I tried my old ones in a suhr RL IR and wasn't happy with the sound, even though they work well with my older suhr RL when I add them in my DAW after it. I do like how they sound in the Mark VII's Cab Clone IR.Loading them into Suhr RLIR to test with Mesa DR MW and Mark VII
