Depends on the amp. For example the Bogner Goldfinger combo put the controls in the back, so it was just the head version crammed into the back of the combo chassis.
If the front panel is on the front, above the speaker in a combo, then the amp is upside down and converting it to a head you probably want to keep it that way unless you can get a new front panel.
Mesa Marks are built for the "tubes pointing to the floor" design because of the slanted front panel.

I bought before it sold out earlier this week and took delivery this afternoon.
In my initial checks to make sure it worked, I tried the Clean mode with the gain maxed and the Crunch mode. In the short amount of time, I can see what everyone says about the tone controls not being too fussy.
I’m going to put the higher gain levels and the Cabclone IR through its paces this weekend.
