So had the DM101. Great delay but basically a single trick pony of what I like for the $. Told myself I was going to stick with the FM3 in the loop but you all know how that goes  :facepalm

Looked at some digital delay options:

1. SDE-3
2. SDE-3000D
3. SDE-3000EVH
4. TC 2290P

Watched a ton of videos. Leon always delivers. I was already leaning heavily towards #1. #2 and 3 are I am sure great, but #2 pretty much gives me insta-3 amp-FOMO for the EVH which instantly re-reminds me I will never do a 3 amp rig. #4 looks like a great option as well but working with the onboard controls and the switching looks like a hellscape.

Should be here tomorrow :satan

Curious how you like it!

I'm eyeing the DD-8 right now... :bonk
Will do. I looked at all the DD variants. 7, 8, 200, 500. They all have something that speaks to me. The SDEs all look killer but the lack of knobs on all but the small one kinda looked like enough of a buzzkill that it was easy to stay with the SDE-3 and live with it's limitations. Air quotes or not.

I find the dual knobs on the RE-2 really annoying, otherwise the SDE-3 looks pretty neat.

I can see that totally. I set my mind to picking my poison, so to speak; and knobs (even if they were concentric) won out over the clock radio and push buttons of the D or EVH versions. Theoretically at least.

@JiveTurkey Did you intercept my letter to Santa? :hmm

I swear you're working your way through my delay wish list!

If you really want to burn some cash and get the best money can buy, just pay @DrewJD82 to stand behind you and re-play everything you play slightly after you do. Analog is where it’s at, right?

Got an SDE-3 on sale.

Read the online manual and the things you can do with it are very similar to its bigger brothers, but require more work to achieve it.

I've been jokingly calling it Donn Landee in a box because it gave me the Ain't Talkin Bout Love & Panama intro delays in seconds.

I'm running it through a single 4x12 cab via FX loop on a 5150iii LBX 2 with the double delay. (They are still very crisp)

It's very temping to turn my 4x12 into a stereo cab, and use this thing more in-depth, as I believe it's the best bang for the buck in it's family.

I might pull an expression pedal into the proceedings if I like what it does? I see where you can use output B to get double the delay time if you leave it stereo but use output B. For how my brain works; I think it will be a good fit!

If I hadn’t decided “this will be my one delay with presets to do everything” I would have gone with the SDE-3 instead of the SDE-3000d.

I like how it’s fast and easy to get the “greatest hits” of the SDE-3000 on the 3 without all the programming hassle. Even the high cut!

Hope you dig it!
