SBS GFS pickups

I purchased SBS Arena Rock pickups from GFS. There are a total of 4 wires on the quick connect. Black, red, white and the shield. Is the 4th wire connected to the shield inside the pickup? Is anyone familiar with these and can/ how would these be wired for a tap?

Thanks, I found it after I posted. It shows connecting the white wire to a switch to coil split. Would I be able to do a partial tap with a resistor between the switch and ground?
