Roto-Control: MIDI controller with motorized knobs

Still daydreaming of endless rotary encoders for my Fractal, but this seems like another option: the encoders are motorized. Specs seem good, and from a cursory web search price seems to be about $400...Just announced at NAMM.

Interesting. But what do those motorized knobs actually give you that endless encoders with proper readouts wouldn't?
I can understand motorized faders (they can't be endless and their position after all is their "readout") but with knobs, well, I really don't know what they're good for.
