Hello friends
what do you know about the rme interfaces
what are the differences
who is using this interfaces in here
please write your opinions

I‘m using the UCX II and it‘s the best audio interface I ever had. Extremely reliable and great performing drivers. The TotalMix software has a learning curve, but once you understand it, it offers a lot of options and flexibility.

UCX II here. I wouldn’t bother with the older ones, they’re quite dated and the difference in price isn’t worth it.

It’s been solid overall. Can’t really say much extremely positive or extremely negative about it. I’m not overly keen on total mix although it does everything I need.

UCXII ticked all the boxes for me for what I needed I/O wise, as well as for using with the ARC remote. There are some annoying limitations too (like you can only use one ARC remote at a time, and the TotalMix FX are so ugly and “Reaper-like” that I just bought hardware compressors to avoid using them.

I also own the UCX II; happy with it and I don't feel the need for anything else. It sounds great, is very reliable and it's full featured.

UCX II user here too; best interface I ever tried. Super linear, rock solid & low latency.

If you're looking for someone to put them side by side, best ask AI for that.

Holy moly UCX II gang represent, here's my glowing endorsement...
"I forget how bad audio interfaces can be because this thing just works as you'd expect it to."

Only reason I'd upgrade is for more I/O... and I'm well covered with what it has for now anyway, been a solid purchase.
Painful upfront cost when Audients and Scarletts cost 4-5x less, but that aside everything else has been perfect.

I’ve been kicking around the idea of upgrading to a UCX II myself. The conversion, latency, and low noise seem to be great on the unit.

I did wish it had 2 additional outs for 8in/8out analog connectivity.

I have a UCX II as well. I got one of the early ones. Unfortunately, mine had a chip failure shortly after the warrantee ran out. Sweetwater was no help. I contacted the manufacturer directly and they told me that they had some chip issues with the early units and that they would still replace it under warrantee. Fortunate for me, their US location is about an hour drive from me. I took an afternoon off of work and put the interface in my saddlebag of my motorcycle and rode down and got it replaced. The new unit has been flawless, as the original was until the day it died. The lesson for me on this is that they take care of their customers. They provide drivers for their units for far longer than any other interface manufacturer. The features of this unit are much more than what I will probably ever need but I am more than happy with how it performs. I would definitely buy it again if something happened to it.

I'm looking to buy a UCX II but I need at least 2 more Mic inputs, what do you guys would recommend?

As in, which 2 channel preamp?

Or do you mean an interface with 4 preamps and similar features to the UCXII? The UCX II was the only RME interface that had the digital I/O I was after, some of the bigger ones might fit the bill if you dont need the exact formats it has. There's loads of decent 2 channel preamps if you want external pre's, just depends on budget really....

Thanks, a 2 channel preamp that is of similar quality to the UCXII under $800.00 USD I guess, anything about that might not make sense right?

Well the UCXII isn’t a preamp, and you’d struggle to find an interface of comparable quality with more preamps for less money. For that kind of money it’s going to be much of a muchness, honestly. You’re probably best off working out exactly what features you need and factoring that into your decision. Most interfaces are hairsplittingly close anyway these days. Anything Focusrite/Audient/SSL/RME/Arturia/MOTU will be fine
