Reverb pedals?

I forgot about the UA interface. Hadn't gone back to watch any demos yet.
Kinda why I stay away from any of the modelers.

I honestly had all I could do to keep up with the Pro Tools education.

Need the ease of TC where you hold you phone up to the pickups...

The Flint with the additional trem seems cool. Easy to use.

I've never messed with the mod knob much on my Memory Lane delay, but read where someone mentioned running delay time all the way down and turning up the modulation?
Maybe that will give me that little bit of space.

Yup. That's the old trick from the Deluxe Memory Man :love that can be translated to
some other Delays that also have Modulation.

I don't think it offers up much sense of added space unless you have some kind of
tool that brings in reflections or repeats. Still a lot of fun, though.

If I were to get a reverb pedal, I would get this one over all others. It is effectively (pun intended) an EMT140 in a pedal.

And bingo - there's your "studio sheen".

I'd checkout:

UA Golden Reverberator
MXR M300 Reverb
Boss RV-5 (trashier than the two above, but very characterful and better than the RV-6 IMHO)
Digitech Polara
Source Audio Ventris

Definitely worth looking into!
Yup, I needed to hear it into the cranked Marshall!

To each their own. There are other YouTube reviews of the pedal out there including by RJ Ronquillo & Pete Thorn. Search out Surf Rider IV
The pedal sounds good It’s just that girl group is so boring to watch .
To listen to on disc record or radio sounds better as a music source .
Just my opinion tho.👍🍺

That cranked Marshall Talisman video sounds killer. Not a bad sound in there, and not even really my style of guitar, but I can totally hear how I could use that!

Tom Bucovac disagrees re: Flint.
Tom Bukovac says "Flint does not sound like my huge $1600 tube reverb box" which is not exactly a fair comparison. While the spring reverb on the Flint is its weakest part, it's still solid and good sounding IMO.

Personally I don't take tone tips from Tom, he's a great player, but showing off pedals on smartphone videos is not exactly giving me anything worthwhile.

Received the Talisman Wednesday afternoon.
Played a little bit, little more Thursday morning and again some Friday.

Side by side with my Dr Scientist Reverberator, I can get the Talisman to sound similar, but I can’t dial in the Reverberator to sound the same as the Talisman.

After the back and forth with the Reverberator, I opted to try in front of the amp. Again, back and forth front to loop.

So far, really liking it in the front, also at 18 volts, it seems to take the hotter amp better.

Plugged in front of a Metro kit JTM45

One thing I have not done yet is switch it from buffered to true bypass.

Is there one way or the other (buffered or bypassed) that is generally better/common for in front of the amp?

It really depends on the overall rig. Both should be fine, I guess, unless there's some other part that causes stuff to act up. Have you tried both and listened for any differences?

No.
I’ve been too lazy to disconnect and unscrew the bottom plate.

Congrats! Great pedal. Has a preamp in it, too, that adds some juice to your signal---especially at 18V.

18V might be too hot out front, but you can always compensate by using the Volume control on the
pedal to ratchet down the signal so you are not slamming the front end too hard. And then turn your
amp up louder to compensate. Win win!

I think maybe I misunderstood running at 18 volts over 9 volts?

Before I got the pedal I was reading some reviews and one on TGP mentioned running at 18 volts so the amp wouldn't clip so much?
So in all honestly, I haven't tried the pedal at 9 volts yet, nor have I tried it in bypass...
