Question for teachers - tab/notation software

I'm putting together a worksheet for a student covering some basic A Minor Pentatonic stuff. I want to have an overview of playing through the 5 shapes, then a series of licks for the student to work on where they can see the shapes connecting within the licks. All pretty basic stuff from a playing standpoint - the catch is that I'm trying to use Guitar Pro to notate all of this (I got a free license years ago), and while it's nice for transcribing and notating complete pieces, having it stop and putting in a line break in the staff and starting a new line doesn't seem to be a thing it does.

I was wondering if any other teachers here, or even students who might get this kind of thing from a teacher have anything they like using for this. I can go to pen and paper but I like having it cleaner than my handwriting, and archiving it digitally is a nice perk too for when my students inevitably lose things I give them. It would be great if something out there made it to where you can write a few lines of text, have a line or two of music, etc. all in one program, but I'm not finding much - everything seems to point back to Guitar Pro. Any ideas?

Give Guitar Pro a shot. Very easy to use and more guitar focused that other notation software.
