Quad Cortex Mini

I think the PCOM argument is a matter of perspective that boils down to if you have (or would have) purchased the plugins anyway. If so, then it feels like PCOM is just a bonus. If not, it feels like those extra tones are paywalled. I fall into the first category, but I completely understand those who are in the second. It’s an interesting dynamic but it’s just a simple reality at this point.

They said a long time ago we maybe would get a Mesa IIC+ but we isted got a model of the JPC2, sooo, I get that some folks is a bit sad, but I like the JPC2 so I`m happy. And Neural never said we would get a JPC2 :grin

I think captures nullifies the `we said this amp and not that amp` But I get it, some feel otherwise, and thats cool to

Since I couldn't find any running thread, I have created the following for people to share what captures they use the most,
Ultimately I know vendors will start posting there to advertise their products but we'll see how it goes.

I did a few more tests. Another finding is that the power adapter that comes with the QC Mini is actually pretty decent. I tested the noise level with the original power adapter and my Cioks SOL. No difference. And I'm pretty sure that with the OG QC, which I briefly had a few years ago, there was definitely a difference.

Clearly, Neural have learned from their previous mistakes with the QC and have improved the design of their new hardware accordingly.

Nice. Good to hear for sure.

First noise related issue I've seen reported. I hope its just a case of a flaky usb cable. I suggested to the guy, to plug in the XLR to see if the noise disappears.

maybe a bad unit? Or could be something else in his chain of course. Hope he gets it sorted. Shit like that is crazy annoying so I feel his pain.

unfortunately after I read the whole reddit thread, it reads like 5 years ago. Lots of other similar complaints. Some issues were corrected by using a CIOKS etc.

I read the thread as well, and I'm pretty sure half the idiots on that thread are bitching about their full size QC, not the Mini which is the topic of the thread. At least that's how I interpreted it. Edit: weird that your comment is the one that's displayed in the link lol

There are definitely some references to the OG. Others having the same issue with their Nano
My suggestion to him was based on my experience with my OG as that corrected my hum issue. I was curious if it would fix his issue before he returns his unit.

Agreed. Same experience with QC. Did it ultimately fix his issue?

Too many ambiguities here. QC vs. QCM vs. Nano... and more importantly: there are distinct types of noise. I wouldn't call the noise in that video hum at all. It sounds more like a static charge. The last time I heard anything like that, someone here (was it @Sascha Franck?) was describing a "zipper noise" he heard when moving his hand over his pickguard. This is the very first time I've heard of this problem being associated with QC or QCM.

The devil's in the details.
