Quad Cortex Mini

As you said, the truth is somewhere in the middle. We all like to argue on here, I just don't think some who claim to be banned for "no reason" are being entirely truthful.

Yeah your Kemper situation was wild. I know it can happen for sure but in my case for example, comments did not seem ban worthy but my emails with Scott, I definitely understand why I was banned.

Scott Peterson is a grade A douchebag. Always has been.

Kinda thumbed through the pages of this thread. Didn't see a conclusive answer...

The QC Mini seems to have improved SNR over the QC. Did we ever verify if the "new chip" QCs have similar SNR improvements as the QC Mini, or is something about the design of the Mini improving this somehow?

We haven't reached a conclusion here yet, but I'd sure be interested to find out.

So much for my theory about the QC having a somewhat higher noise floor (than comparable FAS, L6, etc. products) on account of its form factor. I figured the small enclosure had resulted in more internal induction between PCBs/components - but they managed to miniaturize even further, and make it quieter.

comparing the owner's manuals for the QC vs the QCM, there are differences in the numbers. Perhaps due to different hardware or some fine tuning. Would this change the noise or extended headroom? I have no idea

For example QCM (sorry for the image size)

I suppose the approach of using the full touch screen makes sense...otherwise they would have to redo the UI far more significantly.

I still think a scaled down version of this instead of the Nano would have been amazing. Proper screen, more effects freedom, ability to run the amp models, etc.

I honestly think this is the segue into a QCv2.

with the release of the QCM, which runs the same code as the original QC. It's fully featured minus the stomp count. In effect a replacement for the current QC. Future code will serve both current OG owners and the QCM. They can let the QCM soak for a year and grab some sales. Jan 2027, enter the enhanced QC2 with full TINA functionality. Just thinking out loud really.

What is "full TINA functionality", exactly?

I could definitely see that. The new power supply is a huge improvement over the original and they also seemed to solve some noise issues. Maybe a new floor board that is a bit bigger (more switch spacing) and more robust now that they have a rack/desk option?

I have no idea. ask Doug. :) Perhaps just an audited/re-visited version of all of the current amps with their more recent methodologies/discoveries. There has to be selling points for people to buy it. SPDIF, more effects loops, better wifi....

There's a half dozen of you that I missed enough to calm down and come back :sofa fuck it.

definitely bigger than what I maybe imagined. Some of the designs remind me of the iPhone 4 which was my favourite iPhone design, at least visually (I think it suffered some weird antenna problems though). The buttons, colours and designs remind me of an era of design that was more interesting than a lot of what we get these days, I quite like the look of this.

These new Apple style fonts NDSP are using (and their NAMM area resembling an Apple Store) is so cheesy and naff though.
