Quad Cortex Mini

You don't gotta love em, I don't

They've made some silly moves, no doubt. Though I have to say, I found Doug quite personable in that recent Beato interview. If I weren't half a planet away (and underqualified), I'd kind of like to be working for him.

I don't get the gripes about the price. It's almost functionally equivalent to the QC, so why shouldn't the price be nearly the same?
Yeah, if I were "starting over" I would give the Mini serious consideration. The price difference may not be sufficient to pull someone away from a QC they already own, but that's almost certainly not the intention.

Yeah, just noticed, my bad. Ok, that might change some things.

Too bad it's only got two EXP ins - very likely wah/vol switching won't work that way (or are they both TRS?).
I think that's true (2 expr inputs) of the OG QC as well.

It's got a couple of neat features to "fake" toe down switching IIRC. Basically, you can set a range at the very end of the sweep that will act like a virtual switch. I put a thin bushing (like you'd put under a chair leg) under the treadle to give me a little tactile feedback, and voila.

I usually use a wireless MIDI EV-1-WL when I use an expression pedal at all. Which is wonderful in the basement, but I'm sure most pro/semipro players would steer clear for live use.

weren't you complaining that the Mini only had 2?

Well, yes and no - I was actually wondering whether those were TRS. Because you usually need TRS for EXP pedals to work (something I absolutely don't understand, btw - there's TS EXP pedals working with quite some keyboards) and you'd need at least one other connection for the toe switch then. And ideally yet another one for tap tempo. It's what I'm doing with the GT-1000 Core.

Yeah I think this is more of another option for people going in to the Neural ecosystem, rather than a replacement for something you have. (Edge cases excluded)

If you’re a new shooter, that form factor could really be a big selling point. (Not to mention saving a few bucks)

If I wasn’t able to return my slightly-outside-of-my-return-window QC, I wouldn’t bite on it. But it’s saving me $400! Lol
