Do I need a 24th echo dot…

I've gone through countless replacement Alexa devices. I hate them but my wife keeps getting new ones.. They work for as long as the return period before they start acting possessed and I add them to the collection of Alexa carcasses. This is probably a good time to stock up on more for the inevitable death of the ones we have now but I really want to break the cycle.

It's insane because at work we have a Gen 1 Alexa thingy and it sounds better and is still mostly functioning 100%

Don’t need any more cheap Chinese shit.

Until the cellphone needs replacing, or a laptop. Perhaps a home appliance..

I've never seen the value in Prime.
Whenever I need something, I make a note on my phone, so that when there's an item I need right away, I have a few other things to add to my order, so it qualifies for free shipping.

Running low on something..., it goes on my list. I can't remember the last time I paid shipping. Plus, outside of holiday shopping season, my stuff always arrives before the date promised.

Without fail, with every single purchase, Amazon tries to get me to sign up for Prime. That right there tells my skeptical nature it's not a good deal for me, but instead, a psychological way for Amazon to get in their customers' heads, and make them feel like they need to purchase X amount of shit every month, to justify the cost.

We're all the way in bed with Bezos unfortunately, we have the CC and everything

Made in Asia: The laptop, laptop stand, mouse, mouse pad, USB hub, and USB volume control I'm using right now. Also the computer desk, a small pipe, butane lighter, cell phone, cell phone stand, and a mini hygrometer. The flat screen TV mounted on the wall above the desk too. That's just in my current field of vision. There is a BIC lighter and small bottle of Gorilla Glue that are both made in USA though.

The only thing in my house "Made In The USA" is me, a few Boogies, and a couple of PRSes.

Come to think of it, not even entirely sure about my origins, to be honest.

I’m in to developing personal relationships with vendors and makers… So rewarding to actually know the guy/folks that you’re buying stuff from. Easier than ever with the internet connections.

I’ve made 5-6 large purchases in the last eight months; they were all from real people that I now know personally.

Didn’t say we could avoid Chinese crap completely currently … I just actively avoided when I can. I try, and win every now and again.
