Poly Effects AMPLE - Stereo NAM Player

Their interfaces are mega frustrating to use IMO. Even though the screen on the Dimebag is rudimentary, I would prefer that 1000%

Just FYI, the Ample is not quite a "NAM player", so i don't think we'll ever see support for custom captures. Apparently they're half neural network, half classic modelling.

That box does sound really really good thou. And it's a good value - right now it costs exactly the same as an Iridium.

I'm not a big profiling guy, as I prefer models, but this is so cool - just wish the midrange slider was positioned alongside the Bass and Treble sliders. Really cool device - kudos to the team! 56 well sorted out NAM profiles is all I'd ever need.

That's a most excellent collection -

A little more info here for anyone wondering about the details re: tonestack etc..
I’m not giving them ad revenue by clicking the link. How about a synopsis?

I was about to scream WOT, NO BASSMAN???!!!

But it’s included in the “Bass” category of amps.

Also:

“Ample is stereo in, stereo out. You can run the same amp on both channel or different amps on either”

So I could put my Brig in front in glorious stereo.

🤤

Stereo in and out…lots of great amps easy to get to….with midi, so even easier than easy…dual amps...looking at my Tonex 1, and UA Lion, Dream that I have been testing out with Fractal VP4 and thinking I could sell those three and get one of the Ample and have a couple hundred dollars left over.
Need to explore the manual and see if there is anything that can stop me from making a smart move!

Funny, when I realised it had reverb I thought about this and a Dig in front as a mini rig. That stereo!

Did folks watch the review videos? Apparently it's quite under-gained....you really have to push the gain and hit the boost to hit 'normal' gain levels.

So you're saying it's uniform and predictable, and won't be over gained by external drive/boost pedals. 👍

I wonder how much less this pedal would cost and how much more of a profit margin for the manufacturer would be if they would had opted for knobs and buttons over capacitive touch.

Such a simple design to be ruined by a pointless UI. Give me a few rotary encoders and buttons and I’d be interested. The capacitive touch seems like a gimmick for an otherwise cool pedal.

4-knobs each with secondary function and enough buttons for access to five banks and 6 presets per bank or whatever it is — I don’t know if that’s gonna be wildly cheaper, certainly bigger. But it is definitely a UI for “I should just use plugins but I want to pretend I’m better than that” crowd over gigging folks.
