Just released: PiPedal v1.4.79 Beta
The major feature for this release is support for LV2 plugins with MOD User Interfaces within the PiPedal UI.
PiPedal is a a Raspberry Pi-based guitar stomp box designed to be controlled from a phone or tablet. Turn your Raspberry Pi into a guitar effects pedal that compares favorably to commercial guitar effects pedals costing thousands of dollars. (It also on Ubuntu 24.0x AMD64/x64. An N100-class Micro PC would be a superb option).
PiPedal can be remotely controlled through a web browser, or from an Android phone using the PiPedal Remote application.
It bundles a starter set of 21 LV2 guitar effect plugins, including TooB Neural Amp Modeler, and TooB ML (a neural net amp modeler based on the ML modeling library). But you can also install and use other LV2 plugins as well.
Pi 4 and Pi 5's provide an extraordinary amount of computing power for a guitar effect pedal. As a point of reference, a Pi 5 has about 3x the computer power of a Helix guitar effect pedal (currently selling for USD$1,300)!
Pipedal's Neural Amp Modeler plugin provides state-of-the-art guitar amp modeling using neural networks. You can download and install hundreds of free amp models from https://www.tone3000.com/ , and can even profile your own equipment if you feel so inclined! The quality of PiPedal's NAM models is comparable (or significantly better than) amp models provided by commercial guitar effect pedals costing thousands of dollars. The TooB Neural Amp Modeler is based on Steven Atkin's extraordinary open source Neural Amp Modeler Core library.
PiPedal started as a Pandemic Project, intended to explore some personal ideas about modeling and guitar effects, but has since grown into something beautiful and extraordinary. PiPedal is released under an open source MIT license.
