I’m less worried about vidya’s and more concerned with getting my grubby paws on one. But, thank you!

So in short, the NAM Null Test on the AAS is a whopping ( ;) ) %2.94 better than the GP5 ie: -31.5db LUFS -vs- -30.6db LUFS

In other words, even the ears of the Invisible Sky Persson wont hear any difference - they are identical.

Can someone post a quick comparison of the major players on this? Has the Ampero II been measured?

I predict this is one product whose announced and planned MSRP will not survive the preorder stage. Or at the very least only briefly. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not the last.

I’m not sure that what Blood, Sweat and Tears asserted is true. Sometimes what goes up stays up. Spinning Wheels aside.

Dang I’m really excited to try this out and compare NUX’s modeling/image “versions” 2K versus 4K versus Deep Image versus single level image. Gonna be a really fun experiment for not to much dough.

The stereo “Cyber IR” feature works well on the SS MKII.

Nice they added a lot more amps than what showed originally now with SLO HBE
Lonestar , Recto that’s better
Yes, exactly. Latest firmware I reckon and it took a bit to update the webpage. Adding those high gain and other amps was my greatest concern about the unit. Uber, VIVO, Dzl.

I get it that not everyone is in to the “Asia Stuff” but some brands like Hotone and Nux are truly legit with excellent Engineers. This may well be the most “bang for the buck” $300 unit ever released. It sure as hell smokes the Iridium. So unless Strymon releases a new version at $399 that addresses the disparity, who’s getting owned as we watch?

I expect an MG-40 unit to create stress at $400.

Ampero III will shake foundations.

Yeah I think a lot of these boxes are going to be roughly the same thing - namely converting the NAM file data to their proprietary model which is a lot more lightweight than NAM.

To answer @KingsXJJ, the Amp Academy Stomp seems to be marginally better than loading NAM -> Ampero 2, by a whopping 0.7 dB. But Hotone's own capture system Leo measured at -33.8 dB, so in theory that should be better than the AAS.

The reality is that depending on what amp at what settings with what gear you are capturing, you might end up with good or dogshit results and it's not very obvious when either will happen. I have tried capturing literally the same amp with the same settings, and one channel will turn out better than another one.
