Nux Amp Academy Stomp

On the OG AA, I get along with four out of the nine amps on the gain side. JCM800, Friedman, SLO and Bogner Uber. On the clean side I like the Deluxe and love the Princeton. Just wish it had a killer Plexi.

It’s a neat practice box and can sound great. The FX loop is super sweet to if you stick to analog or low-latency digital effects. I usually throw in a simple delay like the Neunabor Echelon. It’s Fun.

If this thing can actually run native NAM profiles at that price, it'll be a winner.
If it does, it’s just what I’ve been waiting for. I’d like too see Hotone offer it in their new Verbera form factor. I think it’s the “Neon” product series.

Im guessing Leo has been given an upcoming Beta FW which adds importing Nux-proprietary-converted NAM profiles.

...maybe? 🤷‍♂️

Taping over the Brand and Model hardly makes it an "Above Top Secret" device, given its been public for months but not "formally" available to buy :)

I'm excited because the AI voice said it's a "modal" profiler. The voice also asked "What it is gonna be?" Very hip with the street talk :D :columbo

I use some of your capture work and greatly appreciate it. Can you educate me (us) on one layer versus two layers @2dor ?
It's really how deep (how many times it does feature extraction) the neural is; then each layer has its own size & hones in on specific frequency bands (or the entire spectrum). Some research talks about using cascading layers, each tuned to take care of a specific frequency band.

Anyone have an opinion on how Nux compares to the Hotone, Mooer, Valeton, etc offerings? I tried the Ampero Mini last year and aside from really cool form factor, it was a hard pass for me (both amp tones and effects). NAM compatibility has peaked my curiosity again.
