I had an amp that smelled incredibly strongly of weed and tobacco once. I got it really cheap thinking I'd be able to deal with it but the smell never went away.
I threw away the cover, cleaned it over and over again. Eventually I'd fool myself into thinking the smell was gone but once I turned it on and it got hot it would release its stink again. I ended up moving it on cheap myself because of the smell.

Who knows what's in there, could've been worth more than the amp itself.
EDIT: Would've made a nice challenge for one of these 80s/early 90s TV shows: "this guy can 100% identify amps by their smell"

i dont remember the pro tubes being labelled aor- i thought that was a different amp! it definitely has the sound of my footswitcher cause thay thing got DENSE. i never detuned as much as you do in the demo- but similar when you ran the gain up!
i had an aor 100 two channel and LOVED that amp- but the pro tubes of the time didnt have push pull boost pots that i remember, and were more jcm800ey.
is that a single channel?

I never knew much about them. It was on for £400, and @MirrorProfiles pinged me and said "if you fancy a JCM800 type of thing, get this" and I offered the guy £350 and he accepted. Total steal.
Yeah this is the 6 knob one channel. Fewer gain stages than the 8 knob one so far as I know, but that's exactly what I wanted. I've got enough out-and-out high-gainers, I wanted something that was vintage and crunchy. This does have the pull boost pots. I believe in the mid 80's they did 30, 50, and 100watt versions; 6 or 8 knob ones, with and without the pot boosts.

thats a steal.. what a great amp! if you ever see the gen ii footswitcher, that thing had an absolutely raging dirt channel, but it also has a pert near angelic clean channel too. idve never given that thing up had i not taken out a boatload of grid resistors and had a terrible retube done that utterly ruined it. if i had the time to send it back and have it done NOW or even known how suspect the work was, idve kept it, but i needed a functioning amp for shows and offed it to a metal dude who just wanted all the gain and let me buy something else. rock that thing!

But at first, they're all disabled. Then I go through each one. I swear down this amp really brings out the differences in boosts much more than a higher-gain thing does.
