New (used!) Alesis Midiverb II day!

I've wanted one of these for years. Well... even when I was a teenager I wanted one, because I knew a bunch of my favourite electronica acts used Alesis reverbs. But as time went on, and plugins came out, I just sorta forgot about it.

Got it for part research, part fun, part inspiration! This thing is pretty damn cool!

Ah sweet. And that reminds me, I saw one going fairly recently on ebay/reverb, nearly went for it but got distracted by other things. They aren't normally that dear from what I've seen.

If you ever feel inspired and fancy making a couple of IRs of it, feel free to chuck them up on Tone3000!
We definitely haven't got enough people adding cool reverb IRs on there and we would love to have a few extra contributions like this =)

Totes not against that!

This unit is fucking sick.

So far stand out sounds:
07 - Large Reverb - Dark (1sec)
12 - Large Reverb - Warm (1sec)
17 - Large Reverb - Bright (1.6sec)
18 - Large Reverb - Dark (1.7sec)
28 - XLarge Reverb - Warm (5sec)
29 - XLarge Reverb - Warm (15sec)
45 - Bloom 1 (8sec)
46 - Reverse (500ms)
48 - Reverse regen (8 sec)
49 - Bloom 2 (7 sec)

This unit fits really well into the tonality family that I typically go for. A bit brighter than you'd expect, softer roll-offs for the reverb decay, a bit gritty, dirty, not perfect. Like genuinely sometimes the Fractal stuff is just too perfect sounding, and there isn't really a great way to fuck shit up. Whereas the Helix ones are dirty in a bad way.

Got a couple of Microverbs here, love the grit/grain of these and basically all the presets are useful.

MIDIVerb II is maybe the coolest one to own because of the MBV association, but loads of the micro/midi/quadra verbs all do the thing sonically.
