This one s really looking interesting and a candidate to buy this year!

I don’t know if mango ads something to the tone though
 
The Holcombs are pretty nice. I’ve only played the SE’s but they’re a regular consideration when I see them for good prices. I definitely prefer that neck profile over most the other PRS’ I’ve played. Actually, when I was at GC last week a dude was asking the salesman which guitar he should be looking into for under a grand for metal and GC dude was all “Uh….uh….well for under $1000 there’s not a lot” (there’s a whole fucking wall of LTD’s, Ibanez and Schecters 5 ft from them and not all were over $1000) so I suggested the Holcomb 6 that was new and mentioned if he dug it enough he might want to check out the used 7 they had behind us. Dunno if he got it but he was jammin’ away on it when I left.

The brisket burst OG Holcomb's are a great value used (they're like 5150s in how many of them there are out there) and reliable (once you change the tuners).

I'm digging the Core looks. Curious about the price....
 
Gorgeous guitar! I've always liked the Holcombs. If I had infinite wealth I would definitely have one in the collection. Love that cobalt color, though I'm not a huge fan of the satin finishes. I've been trying to baby my Strandberg satin finish to minimize the finish spots on it.
 
Looks gorgeous. I had an SVN at one point, a couple of em. They were great guitars $5k is too rich for me tho.

Yeah, the core PRS Holcomb are always expensive. I have a v1 SE Holcomb with a Macassar Ebony top, and it's incredible. And, I don't feel like I'm missing something by getting a SE instead of core.

I was only planning on the first one, but the store owner I was working with on the special order remembered what my choice B was (I had two guitars on the short list that I eventually narrowed down to the 24-08) and ordered one”for store inventory”. But what he ordered was the exact options I was looking at for the 594. When he told me he had ordered it, I immediately gave him a deposit on it.
