I got these within a day of each other but only because o only ordered one earlier and one later on the same day. Just some fun things:
EQD Hummingbird Tremolo
Catalinbread Katzenkönig Distortion
So the EQD is supposed to be based off a Vox/Valco style trem. Has a bit more throb and chop than what’s on my Fender but I think it’ll be a cool effect to have for my band for some songs. It has 3 modes for 3 different ranges of speed from super slow to stupidly fast. I’m probably gonna live in the middle mode as that seems the most useful to me.
The Catalinbread is a neat one. The front end is based off a Tone Bender Mk II to with the gain and transistors. The back end is based off a Rat’s clipping and filter section. It sounds and feels like a better Rat. It’s not as tight as most Rats but still tight. The input control is kind of like an impedance adjuster. You can adjust it low or high to handle different pickups if it’s first in the chain or adjust it to match your pedals. Really useful. Gain controls distortion and cranking them can get fuzzy. Filter control works like Rat. Counter clockwise for more treble clockwise for less but the sweep feels more useful to me. Can get gnarly and fuzzy with the gain cranked.
A fun couple of pedals I grabbed during Memorial Day sales.
