New pedalboard build: It’s finished!

I spent a few hours playing last night and I’m so happy with how everything is sounding and working. The drives are working together exactly how I wanted, and the Simplifier is better than I expected.

My playing background is mostly a weird combination of Country, ‘80s Rock/Pop, and ‘00s Alt Rock and I feel like this board encapsulates all of that. It can do polished and professional, but it can also get weird in the best ways
 
And to add on; if you sell the board itself down the road...

How are you liking the Simplifier, compared to anything really? I have always been curious but never had the chance to try one. They basically never ever show up used around here. I’m not that impressed by its design and layout I/O wise though. But such things are forgivable being a home user…

Currently I’m well into deciding the Walrus ASC-1 need to go. I’ve been enjoying it during a year now, testing pedals and just noodling around. It sounds good, but it has this typical Walrus digital hiss that some of their pedals has. It’s not loud or disturbing while playing but it’s there and it bothers me, and I keep flipping IRs all the time which also suggests that I can’t find the 100% happy place.

Thinking of trying the Friedman IR-D or maybe the Simplifier mk2 if I can find one.

I’m liking it a lot more than I expected! I think it’s very use-case dependent though. To me it feels and sounds like a really good solid state amp. It’s got a very quick attack and lots of detail/clarity. I think it works best as a pedal platform. Its own overdrive isn’t bad, but it isn’t its strength. It’s really nice that you can control the power amp gain and preamp gain so you can dial in the sweet spot for overdrive pedals in front of it. The cab emulation is good, but has lots of bad settings. Overall it’s a bit tricky to dial in, but once you get it where you want it it sounds fantastic
