Dark days? So you think Fender's dark days are from '87-'98ish?
Certain lower end models have veneered backs.
The quality of my original six will match any fender custom shop. Fit and finish is basically flawless. All companies let stuff out that they shouldn’t but the only problem these generally have is people who can’t get over the Cortek production.Come on, man. They are built like other Cort guitars. The quality isn’t at all on par with other $2400 guitars. You think these line up to a high end Fender Strat or a PRS CE24? I sure don’t. It’s a $1500 guitar, tops. Additionally, the labor cost is FAR lower. Strandberg is milking customers for the uniqueness.
The fit and finish is still inconsistent. Some are pretty perfect. Others have fret and finish issues. You know; like a $1000-$1500 Schecter or LTD.
We’ve had this discussion.
It never ceases to amaze me how you positively shit on a lot of people’s purchases here, and then glow over mediocrity with other brands.
I can provide pictures to back it up.

Damn dude, have you played it yet? That thing looks untouched!
I mean, congrats I guess. It seems super outlandish to me to “match Fender Custom Shop”.The quality of my original six will match any fender custom shop. Fit and finish is basically flawless. I stole that pic off the Internet.
I traded mine in for a guitar with a locking nut because it was the 1980s!![]()
We all do dumb shit. Like sell amazing guitars to get another guitar that then sells before you get the dough. Or something. Ask me for more boneheaded tips.I'll do something dumb today and tomorrow to help me not remember all the
dumb shit I have done in the past, right up to the dumb shit I am doing now,
and will do in the future.![]()

I love Cortek stuff. I think it’s a great bang for the buck, when you’re paying what the labor reflects. Which IMO isn’t $2000-$3000.
Thanks for showing me such a massive sample set. You’ve truly changed my mind.Fender custom shop;

The Strandberg is at least as good on the details here.
According to you it should be obvious on all examples. They are representative of the ones I see though.Thanks for showing me such a massive sample set. You’ve truly changed my mind.
