Gibson did do a faded doublecut in TV Yellow. Here's mine, a 2005, owned from new. It's a great guitar, though I say so myself.

The Faded series were "reliced" at the factory, but subtly, mainly on the back of the neck and on the upper bout of the body. It doesn't really show up well in the photo, but over the years mine has naturally aged nicely.I recently got a used cherry one from 2008 at GC that the original owner had worn the top and neck finish down from playing (I guess) that was a kick-ass guitar. I ended up trading it in toward a new SG special that is even kick-assier!![]()

Congrats on getting an SG Special. Cherry Red, I hope????? I'm looking to get one of those myself in the near future. New ones evencome with a hard case, as opposed to the softshell case with the Standard.![]()
Sounds like a plan, go for it!!!Yup! Was hanging in the shop at Sweetwater. It is perfect - rings like a bell or growls like a jaguar, depending on my mood.
There is a used ā61 SG Standard right now at my local GC that I may have to pair it up withā¦
The one turned out to be potentially stolen from Ronnie Montrose? Not by Gary . If you mean that the answer is yes. I had Garyās Hamer the other week;Have you ever seen Gary's other 59 Stripe?

Better than Greeny but thatās not saying much tbh.Always loved the sound of that guitar when he played it live. What was it like?
I'm not convinced the custombuckers they're selling at £519 a set are the same pickups they're fitting to Epiphones. To be honest I have no evidence for this apart from my general distrust of GIbsons marketing.
You do get different models of pot from CTS, I don't know about switchcraft though. I assume they would probably produce a different spec switch as an oem for a big enough order though.
The greeny is definitely a veneer
I canāt bitch about veneers considering my Orville has a piece of photo paper instead of a sheet of thin wood for a top.
As long as thereās a legit maple cap underneath it, IDGAF.
Ohā¦.and as long as itās not an Epiphone.
Yes, but my Edwards LP is a lot better than any USA Gibson I've owned....In fairness the Tokais and Edwards are veneers at that price point too.
I can understand a $500-$600 Epiphone (though Iād rather have a PRS SE). But $1300 is insane. You can get Studios and Tributes all day long for less, used.
I have played two Strandbergs now and both of them made me want to get rid of a large number of my guitars and only play Strandbergs. I don't know WTF they do with their neck and frets but it's like magic.
