New Amp Day! Marshall DSL20

Supposed to drive to swap my Peavey Invective MH for this tomorrow (unless they change their mind last minute or some shit). Dipping my toes in Marshall. I fear(hope) it turns into a thing - I want some British to compliment my Mark V 35 (and I also want to really know what the DSL sounds like before I compare it to whatever Marshall I buy in the future)

This thing is huge for the wattage - wider than my V:35 (which is actually a tiny bit wider than the Mark VII)

Capturing different settings you like via the efx loop (so of the preamp) might be a worthwhile experiment.

Kinda, a variation. This is guitar > QC > amp in > loadbox > QC (this is the recording/jamming when my family is asleep or I can’t use a cab)

Yeah they have an oomph that I LOVE. The Mark has its own character and it seems like there isn’t a lot of overlap with these amps, so I’m very happy with the variety of tone. Mark cleans blow the shit out of whatever this Marshall can put out for “clean” though.

I’ve been playing this through a loadbox for like 3 hours, and with an SD-1 and a chorus block after the amp - THIS is the tone I crave. They got me, I’m hooked. This amp is fuckin

I’m back and forth between 1959/2204 and Mark/Dual Rectifier constantly and those two groups of amps cover different ground but also compliment each other perfectly.

There’s a reason A TON of the most iconic gain tones from the 90s were a Mesa and a Marshall in parallel. They sound MASSIVE together.
